Powles Craft Class: Powles 33
About this craft:
Designed by Bernard Olesinski, this was designed not just for the private market, but for hire fleets as well – Carrick Craft in Ireland had a significant fleet of them. The mould had a bolt on transom, so you could produce a 33 foot or 36 foot hull.
It was fitted with twin GM Bedford 138HP engines on V drives fitted at the rear, enabling speeds of 20 knots.
Despite being aimed at the mass market, it did not sell well – this contrasts with the Princess 30 DS, the first design brought by Olesinski to Marine Projects, which was launched in 1980.
